Toilet Ek Prem Katha Movie Plot

Keshav (Akshay Kumar) is a Manglik boy and he has to marry a buffalo before to get his stars at the right position. This is among the major beliefs prevailing in India. But he falls in love with the college topper Jaya (Bhumi Pedneker). He stalks her and after a disagreement, they finally fall in love with each other. With their love story blossoming, they finally get married to each other. But then begins the real trouble. Jaya who gets married to Keshav comes to know on the very first morning of their marriage that their home does not have a toilet. She is asked to join the Lota party by the fellow village women which aghast her. She demands a toilet built in the home or else she would leave Keshav. She goes to an extent to divorce him if her husband fails to build a toilet.

How Keshav fights against his family beliefs, village traditions and educate everybody fighting against corruption forms up the story of the movie.

Performances of Akshay and Bhumi

Talking about the performances, Akshay Kumar is the star of the satirical drama. He yet again gave his top-notch performance and proves he is worthy of giving star performances. Bhumi Pedneker again provided a high performance and is natural to the character. Her stubbornness towards building a toilet and her chemistry with Akshay is striking. Supporting characters like Anupam Kher, Divyanshu and others are all fit in their characters.
